Why is decor important?

It's Lit

So, decor can tie a wedding together. Decor you can come in, you can completely transform a space with décor.

ATOV x LO

It helps bring your vision to life. Decor is going to help set that tone for when your guests walk in. They see the vision that you have brought together for them and it’s going to make that lasting impression for them.

What do decor companies provide?

It's Lit

There’s lighting that can be decor such as bistro lighting, up lighting. There’s also physical decor items like signs, marquee letters.

Draping, lighting, centerpieces. You’re going to need help with setting up décor for your ceremony arbor, your sweetheart table, your welcome table. Décor companies provide all of those things whether it be rental or you’re purchasing them. Décor companies provide that.

What happens in the event of inclement weather?

It's Lit

Different pieces of decor have different levels of weather resistance. So marquee letters can handle a little bit of water, like, a sprinkle. Whereas bistro lights, generally, they can get drenched and it’s really not going to matter, as long as everything is properly grounded electrically and safe.

We usually have a rain plan with the venue already in place. If your wedding or ceremony is being set up outside, we would just – the set up that you already have planned, we would just bring it indoors.

Who sets up and breaks down the décor?

It's Lit

We get a lot of people asking us specifically, “oh, can I pick it up and set it up myself?”  With the amount of nuance that goes into our set ups, we have to be on site there to set everything up.

We’ll come back, break everything down; separate what is a rental and separate what is or you  the bride and groom can take home at the end of the night.

What happens if there’s a malfunction during the event?

It's Lit

I am personally very big on redundancy and planning for backup equipment and redundant systems so that if something goes wrong, we have a chance to fix it and if something goes wrong during the event, there are systems set up on how we can get that fixed so that, the event can continue to go on.

How does the décor company collaborate with the venue?

ATOV x LO

We have to go check out the space, make sure we know where all of the power sources are if we’re adding lighting.

It's Lit

We are delivering things so usually we need to know how early we can get to the venue and that requires a lot of collaboration with the venue who is going to be able to let us know when we can arrive on site and when things need to be picked up.

ATOV x LO

So working very closely with the venue is very important for us. Especially if there’s a certain time limit that we have to set up and break down.

It's Lit

Everybody has to communicate and everybody has to have the systems in place to solve any problems that might arise.
