Interview Transcript
Hi, I’m Jeap. Hi, I’m Joanna. And we work at A Touch of Vermont by Lovely Occasions.
We don’t just throw up drapes and greenery. You can come to us and we can take care of so many aspects of your event whether it be draping, lighting, florals, setting up décor, you can just come to us and we can take care of all that stuff. We like to make everything very simple and easy for you.
My job here at A Touch of Vermont is a floral designer. I take time to discuss ideas with clients regarding their vision for their wedding, what would fit in their budget, giving them different ideas for repurposing items. I’m trying to make the process as smooth as possible.
A lot of halls and venues are blank space, so we can go in add draping, add some lighting to help create that ambience that you’re going for. Floral centerpieces for your tables, sweetheart tables, ceremony arbor and we can actually go in and help set up your decor as well.
A lot of DIY brides, they provide centerpieces for us to set up their tables or for the sweetheart table or the welcome table. Seeing the look on the couple’s face when they walk in their reception and they see all the details come together, that is something that can never be replaced.
I try to take floral workshop classes to keep up with the latest ways to design and do installation and a lot of it just kind of trial and error.
What we do is, we work with what the clients are wanting and looking for and then we make suggestion with the style that you’re going for, what do you think about this? So we make those suggestions.
We are very visual people. Everything needs to be balanced. I don’t believe in being super symmetrical, but as a whole everything needs to be balanced. We’re actually very meticulous when it comes to exactly where the drapes and where the lights go. Our clients trust us because of all the experience that we’ve had with draping and especially venues that we’ve worked on numerous occasions.
So, any type of event that you have, come down to our studio, we’ll make everything easy breezy for you and we’re just fun to work with too, so that’s always a plus!
