Wow. This hotel in the heart of Newport took our vacation to the next level!

Firstly, Jen the Manager took care of our one night reservation over the phone and made it so simple. Price, gave CC, confirmation arrived in email. Done! We even came into town a day early and they made accommodations for us. It was two separate rooms, which we didn’t mind, we got to try both. They even moved our bags for us while we were out hiking the cliffs. Also a great parking lot in back for safely keeping your vehicle at NO extra charge. You don’t get that at the big expensive chains.

Secondly, the locations. Right in the heart of everything. We walked everywhere. To restaurants, the Cliffs, the wharf, restaurants, drug store & shopping.

Speaking of shopping, our favorite retail store in the whole town was in the step down retail space of the hotel. The Anchored Artisan. Jeremy and Julie, the owners are a super couple. The epitome of small business owners working hard and doing good things. All of their items in the shop are hand crafted by either them or other local artists. Truly one-of-a-kind items. With enough notice Jeremy will even custom create license plate letter signs, leather wallets made from old baseball gloves, handmade candles etc. Or take your order and ship it to you. Great stuff.

Also the Admiral has a fantastic breakfast every morning from 8am – 10am. Hot coffee and tea, fresh fruit, bagels toast, pastries, yogurt, cereal and much more.

The building is secure after 9pm and only guests have keys to get in. Don’t forget to go up to their great rooftop seating area to catch a sunset as well. This place has it all.

Great competent and friendly staff.

Whenever we go back to Newport we WILL ONLY stay at the Admiral Fitzroy.

Just returned from a lovely 3-night stay. We were in town to see the tennis. The inn is well-located in the heart of Newport. Staff was delightful – friendly and welcoming. Room (#19) is spacious and very comfortable and is well kitted out with an electric kettle and fridge, with a small freezer compartment, which easily accommodated several ice packs. The room has a wonderful balcony with a table and chairs, perfect for two, and overlooks the rooftops and provides a view of the harbor. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy morning coffee or an evening drink. I expect that you get a magnificent sunset view from the balcony, but we were always out and about at that time. An ample buffet breakfast with nice treats is provided. And speaking of treats, there are usually snickerdoodle and chocolate chunk cookies at the front desk. There was also a basket of bagged fresh herbs, to which you could help yourself.

Definitely would return if staying in Newport again!

This was our second time we’ve stayed here and it was for four days. The location is fantastic, the parking is nice and easy, and the staff is very friendly.

We actually had the same room we were in prior and we loved it. A great view from the room., and a comfy bed. The place has charm and character. The bathroom could be a little bit bigger especially when you want to put a few things out to brush your teeth, etc. but it’s manageable. The breakfast is a continental breakfast , it’s good to start the day off but if you want a real full breakfast, you’ll have to look elsewhere. The front porch is great to sit on and relax and watch Newport walk by.

The views from the rooftop are amazing and they have chairs up there that you can sit up and enjoy the view.

First time in Newport and took a chance on this B&B due to availability, price, and convenience. Will stay again! Pics are of the breakfast room and lobby lounge.

Room 11 was as pictured on the site. Those looking for a hotel aesthetic should go to a hotel – this place is traditional B&B quirky. Free parking behind building! Very light continental breakfast of meat, cheese, parfait, fruit, and mini pastries (so those expecting a full cooked-to-order platter should go elsewhere…or go to a restaurant).

Super central – everything within a 20 min walk radius btwn Long Wharf mall, Easton beach, white Horse Tavern, and even The Elms!! We did drive to all of the mansions (plenty of free parking), stopped by Castle Lighthouse, and took the Ocean Avenue scenic drive without traffic or parking issues when returning to the inn.
