My name is Meredith Rousseau and my company is Aristan Bake Shop. Artisan Bake Shop offers wedding cakes, wedding cupcakes, and wedding desserts with a real focus on incredibly high quality ingredients and time tested recipes.
Couples are coming to us because food is a huge part of their wedding. We want to make sure that your cake is not only personal from design, but we want that last morsel that your guests enjoy to be absolutely delicious, so folks say, “Where’d you get the cake?”
So getting a cake through Artisan Bake Shop is both a design and a tasting process. We’re thinking about a cake fitting aesthetically into your wedding day. Then we ask for their mood boards so we can see what colors they’ve picked out, what their floral centerpieces look like, what their linens look like. It’s a process that starts with aesthetics, moves into their style and then moves into tasting.
Sometimes for under a tent, something that you might not think about is we actually level tables so we have cardboard and wood slices that are in our vans that we use to level a table inside of a tent.
So we do print a little card that lets your guests know what the flavors are because that’s always a question that people ask. They go up to your wedding cake and they say, “Look at the beautiful cake!” And then they ask, “I wonder what flavor it is?”
What motivates me to keep going after 18 years is the excitement and spark in our couples’ eyes about getting married and I love to hear all of your stories and make sure your key is personal. So if you want to include your favorite furry friend, whether it be your dog or your cat, it’s that excitement and that spark in your eye that really motivates me to make your wedding cake personal from both design and also in flavor.
